In a defining moment for digital entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia, Emily’s Group was spotlighted by Mr. Anthony Tan, Group CEO and Co-Founder of Grab, during the prestigious World Bank Spring Meetings 2025. The session, themed “Jobs: The Path to Prosperity”, focused on inclusive employment and innovation for youth across emerging economies.

Mr. Tan emphasized the critical role of digital tools in enabling micro and small businesses to thrive through crises and beyond. He shared:

“The power of the digital economy and how access to the right digital tools can unlock new possibilities for everyday people. We saw this again during the pandemic — there was a growing gap between businesses that were online and those that were not. So we work closely with governments to bring MSMEs or micro and small-medium enterprises online — giving them a way to reach customers, and digital tools and data to run much more efficient and resilient businesses. Emily’s Chicken Noodles is an example. I had a chance to meet them last week in Bangkok — the owners, Peb Naiyanachanok Patamasingh Na Ayutthaya and Pat Thaparat Waerojruedee. They started selling noodles on Grab when they had to shut down their tea house during the pandemic. Our platform has helped them strategically operate and grow their business — now they have 170 employees, operating five cloud kitchens in Bangkok. We use our data to help them set up those locations.”

Founded in Thailand during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Emily’s Group turned adversity into opportunity by leveraging data, delivery, and digital visibility to transform a small home kitchen into a rapidly growing food brand. Today, the company is known for its signature Shredded Chicken Noodles, five cloud kitchens, and over 170 employees.
